| | 11:00 am | Registration | | | | | 11:30 am-7:00 pm | Introduction to the Technique — History, physiological rationale of IASTM, principles relating to soft-tissue dysfunction and anticipated results from using GT instruments are covered.
Introduction of the 6 GT Instruments and Basic Treatment Strokes — Description of each instrument, proper handholds and 8 treatment strokes. Lab instruction includes scanning, sweeping, fanning, strumming, J-stroking, scooping, swiveling and framing. Thigh and Pelvis — Participants learn how to scan, sweep, and J-stroke on the thigh and pelvis. Scanning for detection of soft-tissue adhesions and proper instrument choice is discussed, and treatment protocol is demonstrated. Participants practice the above in lab format. Lower Leg, Ankle and Foot — Participants learn how to scan, sweep, strum, and J-stroke on the foot and ankle. Scanning for detection of soft-tissue adhesions and proper instrument choice is discussed, and treatment protocol is demonstrated. Participants practice the above in lab format. Lumbosacral — Participants learn how to scan, sweep, and J-stroke on the lumbosacral spine. Scanning for detection of soft-tissue adhesions and proper instrument choice is discussed, and treatment protocol is demonstrated. Participants practice the above in lab format. Note: 1 hour break 3:15 p.m. – 4:15 p.m. or at instructor’s discretion | Sunday
| | 7:30 am-1:00 pm | Cervical and Thoracic — Participants learn how to scan, sweep, and J-stroke on the cervical and thoracic regions. Scanning for detection of soft-tissue adhesions and proper instrument choice is discussed, and treatment protocol is demonstrated. Participants practice the above in lab format. Shoulder — Participants learn how to scan, sweep, and J-stroke on the shoulder region. Scanning for detection of soft-tissue adhesions and proper instrument choice is discussed, and treatment protocol is demonstrated. Participants practice the above in lab format. Elbow, Forearm and Hand — During this session, participants learn how to scan, sweep, and J-stroke on the hand, forearm and elbow. Scanning for detection of soft-tissue adhesions and proper instrument choice is discussed, and treatment protocol is demonstrated. Participants practice the above in lab format. Edema and Scars — Participants practice scar lifting, nudging, skin rolling and edema reduction techniques in lab format.
