Training Schedule

Graston Technique® (GT) is an advanced form of instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization which enables clinicians to effectively break down scar tissue and fascial restrictions. GT is performed with patented stainless steel instruments designed to effectively detect and treat areas exhibiting soft-tissue fibrosis.

Clothing Requirement for Trainings:  Wear proper clothing for surface anatomy lab sessions of the spine and extremities.

Contraindications: Clinicians are treated with Graston Technique® instruments during the trainings. Any condition contraindicated for soft tissue mobilization is contraindicated for GT.
We advise all pregnant clinicians to consult their treating doctor or healthcare provider before attending a course.

M1–Basic Training (12 hours)
The purpose of M1–Basic Training is to introduce clinicians to GT, its clinical applications, physiological effects/benefits and potential contraindications.

M1-Upper Quadrant Training
(8 hours available for OT & CHT only)
The purpose of M1 UQ is to understand and integrate GT into the full spectrum of UQ rehabilitation. This course is the equivalent of the UQ component of our standard M1-Basic Training.

M2–Advanced Training (14-hour Upper & Lower Quadrant)             

M2-Upper Quadrant (8 hours available for OT & CHT only)

Basic Training is a prerequisite

This course will emphasize a Graston Technique® examination and treatment approach for musculoskeletal dysfunction/mechanical pain that can be applied in all patient cases.
 
Components of the GT examination will include movement loss, lesion localization and resistive testing. Preventative/corrective exercises that will augment the GT intervention will be discussed. Participants will learn to select and implement the most efficient and effective GT interventions, while restoring function and alleviating pain. The goal of this course is to advance skills in the successful management of musculoskeletal dysfunction utilizing GT and movement. Completion of Advanced Training is required for GT certification.

Only clinicians who have completed M1 and purchased instruments, or work at a clinic that owns instruments, are eligible to register for M2.
