GT training is multi-disciplinary and is available to the following licensed professionals:
- Physical Therapist/Physiotherapist
- Occupational Therapist
- Certified Athletic Trainer
- Medical Physician
- Selected Canadian Registered Massage Therapists*
PTA and COTA clinicians are eligible for Graston Technique® in outpatient settings only when they are working under the auspices of a GT-trained PT or OT. While a COTA or PTA may deliver treatment, by law, he or she cannot evaluate a patient. Additionally, a PTA/COTA is respectively not eligible to purchase instruments. For a PTA or COTA to enroll in GT training, there must be a PT or OT clinician who is already trained at the facility/location, or who can enroll in the same course.
*GT has identified schools in the following provinces whose education program meets the above standard: Alberta, British Columbia; Manitoba; New Brunswick; Newfoundland & Labrador; Nova Scotia; Ontario; Quebec; Saskatchewan.
